Wild ARMs, also known as ARM Stampeders[1], is a type of monster, encountered in Wild Arms 4.

Story[]

The "Wild ARM" term refers to a creature infected with out-of control "Ambient Reorganization Material". Usually, it completely consumes the victim, transforming them into a grotesque monstrosity with no shred of original identity, but Gene Driver aptitude seems to let the victim retain most of their mind. Most Wild ARMs can be recognized by silver rectangular "scales" with glowing lines somewhere on their bodies.

The first Wild ARM seen in the story is Augst Henriksen, who deliberately injects himself with ARM cells to slow down the party. The resultant monster is misshapen and can't attack, but consumes surrounding energy and grows at an alarming rate. However, the explosion of Garra de Leon proves to be too much to handle for it. Its data are recorded by Brionac, and seemingly used for creation of anti-Wild ARMs skill, "Apoptosis", which will later be used by Kresnik.

The next Wild ARM encountered is Jeremy Non, who was imprisoned at Illsveil Prison, but mutated, escaped, and tries to hunt down Jude. His weapon is merged with his hand, but otherwise he remains humanoid, and retains his personality, though even more unhinged than usual. ARM empowers him tremendously, improving his Inertia Canceler ability. However, he doesn't appear too durable, and disintegrates upon death.

Finally, the Illsveil Prison itself is full of various monstrous Wild ARMs, from blobs to large monsters. They were created by the Divine Weapon, driven by the nihilistic hatred of Hauser Blackwell, who came to hate humanity.[2] Hauser turned into a Wild ARM as well, while retaining his personality. In battle, he progresses from his almost-normal self to a large monstrosity. He also appears to wield his normal ARM, "Gun Claw", in this state with no side effects.
