Trapezohedron is a dungeon in Wild Arms 2.

Story[]

Trapezohedron is a "prison" made of Mana from the four Raypoints. It's created by ARMS in order to give Kuiper Belt flesh and make in into "being", rather than "world", and make it possible to kill. As such, it's accessible from the desert northeast of Quartly after releasing all four Raypoints, Flam, Geo, Muse, and Wing. Due to the mission's nature, it's impossible to leave Trapezohedron until its "prisoner" is slain.

The party enters Trapezohedron and eventually reaches its end, only to find out that the construct's "prisoner" is not Kuiper Belt, but rather a small part of it, dropped off by the main "world" to set off the trap. Irving Vold Valeria declares the mission a failure, albeit noting that discarding its part did weaken Kuiper Belt.

Back in Valeria Chateau, Irving orders the party to rest, and starts to think how else it's possible to trap an entire parallel universe. Contemplating about Ashley containing Lord Blazer, he comes to an answer - the only thing able to contain Kuiper Belt is a human with the blood of Sword Magess, like his own bloodline. He convinces his sister to help him, naming her his "Madonna of Destruction". The next day, he sends the party to investigate Fiery Wreckage, before escaping the Chateau.

Contents[]

Trapezohedron contains no treasure chests or other secrets. The entire dungeon is essentially one big puzzle, comprised of narrow walkways, connected by teleports. Walking over certain platforms reveals new paths - some necessary for progress, some just misleading. Some walkways are denoted by healing crystals - it may be worth to not pick up one of them, thus marking which ways were already checked.

Enemies[]

Boss[]

  • Encroaching Parallel Universe Larva

Trivia[]

  • The Trapezohedron may be a reference to The Shining Trapezohedron, an artifact from H. P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos.
