The Day Of The Bacchus (Japanese: デイズ・オブ・バッカス) is the eighteenth episode of the Wild Arms Twilight Venom anime.

Synopsis[]

Sheyenne Rainstorm, Dr. Kiel Aronnax and Issac are about to take public transit on the way to the capitol when Sheyenne sees who he believes to be Laila Lai -- who he previously saw die in "Lie, Laila, Lie" -- being pursued by some men in a wagon. Sheyenne shoots their wagon apart with his ARM Batour, so they shoot down the bridge, but not before "Laila" and Sheyenne both manage to cross it. Kiel and Issac eventually catches up to them by crossing another bridge, where he finds Sheyenne watching over Laila's unconscious body in front of a statue depicting the goddess Laila Margaret shooting Keanu Fallwind, the King of the Evil Race. They are taken in for the night by Golgol Thirty and his partner Olivia, the former of which confesses under the influence of alcohol that he is a sniper whose next assassination target is Commander Valeria; his guests dismiss this as a joke.

The next morning, the woman awakens calling herself Gina and does not recognize the name "Laila" when Sheyenne calls her that. Gina is overcome with headaches as she is having a conversation with Sheyenne and ends up bedridden again. After another night, Olivia finds Gina has disappeared from her room and Sheyenne finds her in front of the statue where she passed out before. The two of them are entranced by the statue for a moment, causing Sheyenne to have a vision of Laila pointing a gun at him.

The men from ROOF who were pursuing Gina earlier surround Golgol's house and initiate a gunfight with him and Kiel. Sabriskie and his soldiers find Gina in the forest, referring to her as their "goddess", and they deliver her ARM to her, which she uses to destroy the statue while revealing herself to be ROOF's leader. Back at the house, Golgol sends Kiel away for more alcohol, long enough for the soldiers to get in the house and kill Golgol in front of Olivia. They have a proper burial for him, and the three heroes finally arrive at the capitol.
