The TF System (Japanese:惑星改造装置(TFシステム))[1] was meant to terraform the planet Filgaia in order to make it hospitable for the Veruni who, due to the biological mutations caused by thousands of years drifting through space, are dying from a phenomenon known as the "VR factor" causing the planet to reject them. Towards the climax of Wild Arms 5, Volsung commandeers the TF System and intends to use it to destroy the planet, prompting the player party to travel across the world and shut down each tower.

There are five towers altogether, with 4 occupying their own corner of the world map plus one in the middle of the ocean that is only accessible with Asgard. Each tower is named after one of the Guardians, and they can be completed in any order with the exception of Tower O.

Towers[]

TF System: Tower M[]

Tower M is named after the guardian of fire, Moor Gault, and most enemies will have a fire-elemental advantage and a water-elemental weakness, including boss Persephone. Rebecca Streisand has a duel with Persephone during the latter half of her battle. This tower is a volcano located in southwest Filgaia.

TF System: Tower S[]

Tower S is named after the guardian of water, Schturdark, therefore most enemies will have a water-elemental advantage and a fire-elemental weakness, including boss Elvis. Carol Anderson has a duel with Elvis during the latter half of his battle. This tower is a palace of ice located in northeast Filgaia.

TF System: Tower G[]

Tower G is named after the guardian of earth, Grudiev, so most enemies will have an earth-elemental advantage and a wind-elemental weakness, including boss Fereydoon. Chuck Preston has a duel with Fereydoon during the latter half of his battle. This tower is located in southeast Filgaia.

TF System: Tower F[]

Tower F is named after the guardian of wind, Fengalon, with most enemies having a wind-elemental advantage and an earth-elemental weakness, including boss Kartikeya. Greg Russelberg has a duel with Kartikeya during the latter half of his battle. This tower is located in northwest Filgaia.

TF System: Tower O[]

Tower O is named after Odoryuk, and is only available in the endgame after the other four towers have been deactivated. Area 15 of this tower is a "point of no return", where the player can no longer freely roam the world map and must finish the game's story. Volsung and his Golem Jotunheim are the bosses of this level.
