Screamer are enemies that apperas in the very first game of the serie.

Screamer is an enemy type encountered in the Maze of Death.
Scary enemies, they look like a severed head with long sharp teeth and a black hole instead of the eyes, one of your eyes has a seam.
Later we find an enemy similar to him and stronger in Demon's Lab called Galgancher and another stronger called Wiseman.
