Nidhogg (Japanese:ニーズヘッグ)[1] is a monster that appears in Wild Arms 3 at Nidhogg Pass, where the player party must defeat them on the way to Yggdrasil. Nidhogg's name and design comes from Norse myth, where Nidhogg gnaws at the roots of the tree of life.[2]

The name of Nidhogg also occurs in Wild Arms 4 as the name of the chainsaw used as a weapon by Balgaine Ales, one of the villains of the game.
