Naga in Wild Arms
Naga are monsters that appear in the original Wild Arms game. They are encountered in the Dragon Shrine dungeon and often attacking in groups with another monster known as Aqualeaper. When navigating the Inner Sea and Outer Ocean on the Sweet Candy, a variation called Sommerell, with different colors and abilities, can be found. Naga's name and design are based on the Naga in the myths of several Asian cultures, including Hindu, Buddist, and Jain, where the creatures' upper bodies resembled humans and lower bodies were that of snakes.[1] They were associated with natural bodies of water, hence their resemblance to the sirens of the Odyssey in Greek myth and appearance being closer to hideous mermaids with long fish tails and flippers.[2]
