Mithysmere (Japanese:棄民街ミッシーズミア, lit. "Ghost Town Mithysmere")[1] is a location in Wild Arms 5, found in the north-eastern region of Filgaia. Mithysmere can be considered both part-village and part-dungeon, for even though characters do populate the initial area, the deeper parts are infested with monsters until the player purifies the Sol Niger and thereby has the option to turn off random encounters. Within the story, Mithysmere is a dank slum where the orphaned and impoverished children of those who went to work in Laila Belle live under the constant threat of monsters, having ended up there when their parents and guardians worked themselves to death after failing to achieve the fame and fortune they sought out in the "big city". When Dean Stark's party comes through, they meet several of the children, including Pastel, whom they later bring medicine after she becomes very physically ill. Wild Arms 2 character Tim Rhymeless makes a cameo in this village.
Kartikeya comes to this town later in the game, using himself as bait and laying a trap to help the other Veruni radicals capture Avril Vent Fleur and take her and her comrades to the Black Box.
