Melissa Arwin (Japanese:メリッサ・アウィル)[1] is a character that appears in Wild Arms XF, although she is long deceased by the start of the story, mostly appearing in flashbacks but also appearing in the flesh when Chevalet Blanc are thrown back in time. She is the mother of Clarissa Arwin and a descendant of Yulia, and thus is able to wield Iskender Bey. She is voiced by Nami Kurokawa in the Japanese version of the game, sharing an actress with her ancestor.
Story[]
Melissa was an archaeologist doing research on the ancient technology of ARMS. She and her daughter meet Felius Arwin shortly after he arrives on Filgaia from Elw Borea, and they quickly accept him into their family.
Melissa is murdered before the beginning of the story by Rupert Dandridge, who sought to obtain Iskender Bey, and Clarissa pursues him years later to retrieve her mother's sword.
Chevalet Blanc are thrown back in time in the third act of the story by Clarissa's ARM Strahl Gewehr and encounter Melissa in the Bandits' Forest. Befriending the older Clarissa, she has the group escort her to Elensia City for the Founding Day Festival.
