Locus Solus (Japanese:ロクス・ソルス)[1] is a part of Filgaia that houses what is colloquially referred to by the characters as the Black Box (not to be mistaken for the optional boss with the same name), the final dungeon of Wild Arms 5, as well as The Pilgrim's Cradle where Veruni come to heal from the effects of the VR factor. It does not appear on the regular world map of Filgaia; the Locus Solus can only be accessed from the Mayflower after completing the Memory Maze dungeon.
Black Box[]

Volsung in the chamber of the Black Box
The Black Box, referred to by some of the Veruni as the Mother Colony (Japanese:黒い箱(マザー)), is a "point of no return" only playable during the endgame after completing TF System Tower O. The location appears throughout the story as the home base of the radical faction of Veruni, lead by Volsung, after they stage a coup early in the story killing many moderates aboard the ship. Volsung remains in this place for the majority of the game, and the player party briefly finds themselves here when they are eventually captured by Volsung and his Sentinels and surrounded by Golems, though only for an unwinnable boss battle and a few cutscenes in between before the characters are rescued by Johnny Appleseed and brought aboard the Mayflower. Boss monsters Titanius and Garyugossa are battled here. The term "Mother" may be another one of this game's many homages paid to the Wild Arms franchise, alluding to Mother from the original Wild Arms game and its remake Wild Arms Alter Code: F.
