Kuiper Belt

The Encroaching Parallel Universe - Kuiper Belt (Japanese:侵食異世界カイバーベルト)^[1] is a sentient parallel universe, that's looking to devour Filgaia. It serves as a major antagonist and penultimate boss of Wild Arms 2, being Irving's reason for creating both ARMS and Odessa, trying to utilize the Argetlahm and Demon Summoning, and ultimately sacrificing both himself and his sister, Altaecia.

History[]

While the exact origins and history of the Kuiper Belt are unknown, it was observed by Irving Valeria some months before the "failed" ARMS initiation ceremony. Knowing that the current governments of the world couldn't and wouldn't come together, even if he told them the truth, Irving secretly backed the terrorist organization, Odessa, and even reformed the special Musketeer unit, 'ARMS'. Whichever side won, Irving would have enough resources to combat the Kuiper Belt.

Eventually, the Kuiper Belt would land on Filgaia, making its way into Glaive Le Gable and creating the "Stain Paradigm", a distortion in the sky meant to symbolize its descent. ARMS makes its way down through Glaive le Gable, eventually combating each of the Kuiper Belt's roots. However, upon facing the core, Irving's voice reveals the truth: he and his sister sacrificed themselves to give the Kuiper Belt a physical form. He implores them to kill the Kuiper Core, right as his consciousness is swallowed by the abomination.

Ashley and co. eventually destroy the Kuiper Belt, but the sacrifice took its toll on them, leading to the release of Lord Blazer.
