Interview With The Ampire (Japanese: インタビュー・ウイズ・アンパイア)[1] is the fourteen episode of the Wild Arms Twilight Venom anime. The episode's title is an allusion to the horror novel-turned-film "Interview with the Vampire".[2]
Synopsis[]
The story opens with a Crimson Noble named Count Ampire telling Loretta Oratorio and Mirabelle Graceland (in disguise) a story about how he became infatuated with Mirabelle and, having subsequently met her parents, became her betrothed. In truth, he read an article about the Graceland family in the paper about how they had gone bankrupt and decided to take advantage of their situation and buy Mirabelle's hand. When her parents tell her she is to wed him the next day, she protests and claims to be engaged to Sheyenne Rainstorm in order to get out of the deal. Sheyenne tries to undo Mirabelle's fib over dinner, when Mirabelle's father claims that their noble family subsists only on food made from Heal Berries and they do not drink blood. However, Mirabelle's parents do try to feed on her friends as they spend the night and Mirabelle is held prisoner in her own home, and only really savor Sheyenne's blood. They try to force Mirabelle into marrying Sheyenne instead so they may continue to feast on his blood, blackmailing Mirabelle with a "secret" she does not want her friends to find out. Count Ampire crashes the ceremony and reveals to all that Mirabelle's parents planned to sell her to him. Mirabelle also outs her parents forwanting Sheyenne's blood, tempting some of the other Nobles, including Ampire, to turn into bats and try to nip his neck. Mirabelle defends Sheyenne, who accuses her of being just as predatory as the rest of her species, causing her to run away upset. Kiel and Loretta nudge Sheyenne to apologize, and Mirabelle asks him to marry her to make up for what he said. He agrees, and the heroes all ride away from the village in a carriage. Mirabelle's mother destroys the blackmail -- a baby picture of Mirabelle with a birthmark in the shape of a Heal Berry -- as the group celebrate having pulled off their fake wedding. In the final scene of the episode, Count Ampire has dozed off on his couch after having told his story, and his servant discovers that the treasure hunter girls in their disguises have made off with his assets.
