Instructor Henri was Jude's sword instructor in Wild Arms 4.
A stoic but honorable man of apparently strong will and power, Jude describes him as being able to slice cars in two with a single stroke of his blade. While showing some chagrin of his student cutting classes, he is happy to just use rethoric on the boy to make him see his faults. Even though Jude seems to dislike his lessons, he clearly shows respect for his teacher, listening attentively and obeying his orders without too much fuss.
Arriving in Halim after his mother's death, Jude have a moment of rage seing Tony's ex-assistant (who participated to the raid on Ciel) and attempts to punch the man . But Henri easily stops him by catching his arm before gently berating him for "attacking in anger". Like in the prologue, he is able to calm the boy down easily, explaining the man's presence and making the Gadgeteer stops feeling rage, even though the trauma from losing his mother still remains.
