Illsveil Prison, also called Illsveil Prison Island (Japanese:イルズベイル監獄島)[1], Illsveil Prison Isle and just Illsveil, is a recurring location throughout the Wild Arms series.

Wild Arms 2[]

Illsveil Prison is a dungeon in Wild Arms 2. It's a large prison, where Brad Evans is being held.

Story[]

According to a book in a library, the Illsveil Prison is jointly controlled by all nations in the world. Only the worst criminals are sent here, and they're not expected to return. Over the years, the prison became an independent domain of sorts, with the first criminal sent here as its "warden".

ARMS is sent here by Irving Vold Valeria, who orders them to add Brad Evans to their ranks. Knowing that visiting the island normally would be impossible, he claims that Ashley attacked him, and sends him to the prison, with Lilka as an escort. In the prison, just as Lilka breaks Ashley out of his cell, a mass prison riot starts in another block. Using the commotion, the duo finds Brad, who turns out to be waiting for them, as he was already contacted by Irving. The group continues their escape, defeating the warden's combat robot on their way, and then finally meets Irving. Ashley, angry about his deception, punches Irving, before telling him to stop treating people like pawns. Brad, meanwhile, wonders whether the riot was just a coincidence.

Meanwhile, Odessa two suspicious men are seen rounding up the prisoners, promising them freedom and employment.

Wild Arms 4[]

Illsveil Prison is the final dungeon of Wild Arms 4.

Story[]

The party arrives at Illsveil in order to stop the Divine Weapon, the final ARM, that threatens to unleash on the world numerous monsters, known as Wild ARMs. After fighting their way through the prison, they finally confront Lambda Zellweger. He states his idea of forcing humans to "evolve" by surviving a catastrophe. The heroes rebuke his arguments, and defeat him in combat. After the fight, Lambda has a change of heart, and helps them reach the Divine Weapon's chamber.

When the heroes reach the Divine Weapon, they are confronted by Hauser Blackwell. As they clash, Hauser's memories are shown, how he went on a suicide mission in Verklarung, leaving his lover, none other than Ethelda Maverick, behind. Now, believing himself to be "betrayed", Hauser came to hate humanity, and wants to eradicate it. During the battle, the party overcomes Hauser and his Wild ARM transformations, before the entire prison, no longer supported by Divine Weapon's power, starts crumbling.

As the group starts fleeing, Hauser suddenly reappears, and attacks Jude. They both activate the Accelerator, preparing to clash again, but Jude throws away his ARM, thanks his opponent for not letting the Verklarung disaster to be even worse, and pleads him to let go of his hate. Hauser, moved by the boy's words, stops, and crumbles to dust. Then, the party notices a white puppy, the very same that Jude earlier saved from the Autumn River, proving that Lambda in the end didn't have the heart to actually kill it, and merely deceived Hauser by showing him an empty collar. Taking the dog with them, the party escapes the island on a plane.

Contents[]

Wild Arms XF[]

Illsveil Prison is very briefly mentioned in Wild Arms XF as the prison in Elw Borea that Felius Arwin was to transport the traitor Kressen to after his attempts to take over their world. They never do reach their destination, as Kressen escapes captivity and they both land on Filgaia separately due to time displacement.
