Gounon (Japanese:酒造郷ゴウノン, lit. "Distillery Town Gounon")[1] is a town located in northern Filgaia, and is the hometown of Greg Russelberg, who had resided with his family and worked in it's winery before becoming a Golem Crusher. Dean Stark, along with Rebecca Streisand and Avril Vent Fleur, come to the town chasing the trail of "Johnny Appleseed", only to find that it is the name of a wine. Dean's party meets Greg's father-in-law Joseph in the village's cemetery as Joseph is paying his respects to his murdered daughter and grandson, and Greg later runs into him in the same location, prompting Joseph to declare he is moving out of Gounon as he accuses Greg of being responsible for his family's death. Yulie Ahtreide makes her cameo in this town, and is involved with a sidequest where the player can help reunite her with her older brother Kresnik Ahtreide by bringing her a music box.
