Golems (Japanese:ゴーレム)[1] are a type of machines in the Wild Arms series.
Wild Arms 1 & ACF[]
In Wild Arms and Wild Arms Alter Code: F Golems are eight giant machines, designed by the Elw to be the ultimate weapons against the Demons. Each is associated with one of the eight attributes: Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Light, Dark, Thunder, and Ice. Since they are not human, they can be either good or evil, depending on who controls them. They were good, evil fighting machines in partnership with the Elw and Humans 1,000 years ago, but since the Demons stole many of the dormant Golems and re-activated them following the attack on Adlehyde, all Golems (except for Asgard) are on the side of the Demons.
Wild Arms 2[]
The Crimson Nobles refer to their mechanical assistants given artificial life as Golems as well in the books in the Crimson Castle. The terms would seem unrelated, yet at the same time Marivel Armitage's Force lvl 3 attack is named Asgard and has strong similarities to the Elw construction from the first game.
Wild Arms 5[]
In Wild Arms 5 "Golem" is a general name for robots, which vary widely in size and function. Some are barely larger than a human, while Asgard is large enough for the whole party to ride in his palm. They are considered an ancient, lost technology, and Nightburn became a celebrity for his alleged successes in discovering them. Meanwhile, Greg, who destroys golems around the world, is known as "Golem Crusher", and has bounty on his head for it. Kartikeya also has a prosthesis which is commonly called "Golem Arm", though it's actually an ARM, ASGX_7135, hinting at the connection between ARMs and Golems.
