Goldrake is a recurring boss enemy in the series.
Wild Arms 3[]

Goldrake in WA3
In Wild Arms 3, Goldrake appears as the boss in the end of the Den of Miasma dungeon in Clive's prologue.
This battle is more of a tutorial than anything else. Start by shooting at it a few times, gathering FP along the way. Once you've done around 200 damage to it, it takes to the sky and can no longer be hit! To add insult to injury, its attacks are now stronger!
But Clive is a renowned sharpshooter, correct? He ought to be; once you gather 25 FP, open the Force Ability menu and select Lock On. This will hit the Goldrake, ending the battle regardless of the damage it does.
It's not over yet, unfortunately. Upon losing, Goldrake takes a deep breath and exhales poison in our hero's face, which inflicts him with Poison status.

Wild Arms 4[]

Goldrake in WA4
In Wild Arms 4, Goldrake appears as the boss of Valley of Oblivion. It possesses strong magic attacks and can poison HEXes. After any of its moves it can start flying, reducing accuracy of all physical attacks against it by 50% (bypassing its nonexistent EVA stat), but also gaining the Flying type, making it vulnerable to Jude's ARM. It can land in the same manner. Changing modes also changes its elemental weakness (Wind on the ground; Earth in the air) and the element of its attacks.
