Equites (Japanese:エクイテス)[1] is the Sword Guardian. In most of his appearances it takes on the form of a reptilian beast with a blade attached to his head. In Wild Arms 4 Equites is the name of a sword usable by Raquel Applegate, which can be synthesized with the proper items at Jude's Workshop in Frontier Town Halim. In Wild Arms 5, Equites takes on the form of a self-confident sword-wielding warrior maiden. The name Equites comes from the word equites, which could refer to a calvary in military terms, or in historical terms a social order below the Senators, like Knights.
