Epitaph Sea is a recurring dungeon through out the Wild Arms series.
It is an abandoned tower located near Court Seim, who used to be Nicholi's workplace during his Weapon learning time with Master Zepet, the old Dream Chaser

The Rune Drive[]
During the search for the Rune Drive the group finds a new skill tool for Rudy, in the course of progress the group is lost amidst the enigmas and mazes of the place, until a mysterious figure offers help to the guardian Luceid.
The group accepts to be guided by the guardian, and manage to reach the upper levels, however to the surprise of all, Luceid was next to Boomerang waiting for the good guys in a trap.
Luceid is the guardian of desire, Cecilia questions him about his motivations, because to stand next to the Metal Demons, Boomerang explains that the cycle of desire never ends so Luceid can not be killed by his side.
"If you wish to defeat me you must attain the miracle you seek, yf you can win that for yourself. I shall appear again."
Both disappear after the battle, and the group manages to recuse the item they came for, and depart back to Court Seim.
