Drifters

Drifters are individuals who travel the world of Filgaia (or Earth, in some cases) in search of adventure, treasure, and/or various other reasons, motives and goals. In the original Wild Arms game, Drifters were referred to as Dream Chasers, in Wild Arms 2 they are called Mercs (likely short for "mercenaries") and often in Wild Arms 3 are also referred to as Migratory Birds (Japanese:渡り鳥), which is the actual word used for each term untranslated from the Japanese screenplays. "Drifter" as a term is used throughout every incarnation of the Wild Arms franchise, though the definition varies slightly between entries. One constant is that Drifters will do freelance work, usually slaying monsters or searching for missing or wanted persons.
