Charybdis (Japanese:カリュブディス or カリブディス)[1], called Calupdis in the original Wild Arms game, is a monster that appears throughout the series. Its name comes from the Odyssey in Greek myth, where Charybdis was a whirlpool who menaced ships alongside Scylla, which may be a nod to this monster's tendency to suck up the player's money.[2]
Wild Arms[]
Calupdis are an enemy encountered around the map near the Gemini's Corpse dungeon. This creature is a large and very fat gnome who has a magic staff. He has a brown color palette and is always in a sedentary position during the battle. They can attack alone, in pairs or with other enemies. A similar-looking enemy can be found in Heaven Corridor called Gnome, those they have different skills and colors.
